Yesterday evening, co founder Arun Bhat got a chance to take the MG ZS EV for a small test drive. Here is his view.
The test drive model is a CBU unit not the final India spec(which will be assembled here via CKD import), so Infotainment etc is not final (it's still the laggy Euro Spec and not what was shown in the reveal) .
It was a small test drive as officially test drives have not started and they will start giving cars to 'influencers' like cricketers and movie stars from today.
The interior space and boot makes it a real crossover SUV unlike the Kona Electric which is really a hatchback.
I like interior space and back seats are comfortable. Big sunroof gives a roomy feeling in the cabin.
Vehicle is powerful and smooth, suspension has no creaks , no motor vibration. More can be known only after a longer test drive. Overall looks a solid EV if priced at INR 22L for the higher end version.
Final price after reveal part 2 in Jan, deliveries early Feb 2020.
