Bought the MG ZS on 7th November and have driven 1300 kilometers so far. Working from home, hence only taking the car out during weekends or for trips to the Sports Club. The 1st Service was done in 3 hours. The guys basically check the health of the Car by connecting it with their Computer. That's basically it! The car is then dry washed and handed back. An electricity connection with sufficient wattage (8-10 KW or higher) is needed before a Home Charger can be installed. I got my domestic 3 KW single phase connection upgraded to 10 KW single phase for this purpose. This was basically paper work, no actual changes made by BSES at my premises. Had to pay a security deposit to get the upgrade, but the whole process was completed in 2 visits during COVID, can't complain. The Home charger was subsequently installed by eChargeBays 3 days before vehicle delivery. They asked for 2 meters of 10 sq mm 3 core copper wire and a connection from the meter to an MCB. This was a major task as no shop sells only 2 meters of this wire. Anyway, eChargeBays installed the charger about 20 meters away from the electricity meter. Took about 4 hours for installation. Next day, another team came for commissioning or activating and testing the charger. Installation, wiring, everything was free. Well, not completely free, cause I paid for the vehicle, but yeah no extra charges. The Car is luxurious and fun. At 4.3+ meters in length, it looks, feels and drives like an SUV. Fastest car around, but watch out for the speed cameras!! I can go on and on about the features and fun. Very happy with the car. The electricity bill this month was ZERO, because I used less than 200 units and AAP Government subsidizes consumption upto certain threshold. Interesting that the MDI, which is the highest Wattage consumed was 1.6KW. Apparently, if you charge the car from 50% to 100% or 60-70% to 100%, the home charger does not have to take on full load of 7.4KW. So this time, ZERO electricity bill, ZERO Water bill and ZERO PETROL Bill. Charging has a pattern in my case. Because I take the car out on weekends, I charge it once in 2 weeks, usually on Thursdays. takes about 2-3 hours to charge from 60% to 95%. Occasionally, I plug it in before lunch and take the car out in the evening. Just like charging my phone. Long trip is planned during new years. Might take the car to Bir Billing. Looking to charge the car at Chandigarh, and then hopefully near Baijnath, Kangra, Palampur. Chandigarh is covered. Need to plan the second charge stop for this Journey. Anyone living between Chandigarh and Baijnath willing to spare a charging point?
